- When you sign up for any website, set up what is called two-factor authentication on your profile to protect your accounts.
- Regularly change your passwords on each account you use & use different passwords. Using the same password for everything is insecure.
- Use a password tool like Robform/Keeper. These have password-generation tools to make sure you are using strong passwords.
- Remember to signout of data-sensitive websites like banking sites, etc., when using public WiFi. Using a VPN is a great idea also when on unknown WiFi connections.
- Do not download any unknown applications on your phone or your computer that you do not recognise.
- Do not hand over any personal information online to anyone you do not know.
- Do not trust websites which state if you fill in your information, you will receive free goods. Most of these are scams to obtain your personal data.
